Kaspersky Detected Worm in Twitter

Kaspersky Lab, the computer security system developer, is success in detecting the entire worm that planted in microblogging Twitter site. The Worm is the entire vary from Net-Worm.JS.Twettir that appears since last April 11.

According to Kaspersky analysis, that worm exploit Twitter weakness, then those weakness give possibility to the worm to attack by using cross-site scripting or XSS and modifying the user account.

Then the account will be infected when the users visit pages that modified or follow link in a site that promotes in message that they believe as original Tweets from user’s friends. A JavaScript scenario is used in the infection process.

After a few days, the different version from worm was circulated in Twitter that caused several waves infected. The Twitter Administrator closed the entire holes in this site.

Nevertheless, there is no sign yet that this attack steal personal information or Twitter user’s password.
