The laptop product rivalry is getting hotter. Toshiba, the Japanese electronic giant, is introducing the new laptop that is claimed to be the lightest laptop in the world. This laptop is attributed to strike hard the competitor, from Apple or Lenovo.

The Portege R500-S5007V is 1, 08 kilogram. Compare with the thinnest laptop in the world, Apple MacBook Air which is 1, 5 kilogram. As to the thickness 0, 77 inch at thinnest part. This size loses a little then the thin Apple MacBook Air whish is 0, 76 inch.

Although it is light, the feature is complete including the existence of the optical drive. One of the features that are relied on is the storage media is not hard disk, but solid-state drive (SSD) single 128 GB which is also claimed as the first in the world.

Previously, the maximum capacity os SSD in laptop is 64 GB. The SSD laptop of Apple or Lenovo is achieves 128 gb but that is the merging of two modules 64 GB.

Compared with harddisk, SSD is consuming slimmer power so it can make durable battery. toshiba even also claimed that this laptop is able to survive for 8 hours in once contents repeats.
