Atom Celebrates 1st Birthday, Intel Adding Two Model On Beijing Intel Development Forum – A year ago, Intel launched Atom processor. today Intel shows two new Atom models with Silverthorne core at IDF (Intel Development Forum) at Beijing for celebrating Atom’s birthday.
The first model is Z550, which is offers clock speed up to 2GHz and supported by Hyperthreading technology. Intel said that this chip consume energy less than 3 watt or averaged 220mWatt.
The second model is Z550, which can run up to 1.2GHz, not 1.1 GHz. This speed increasing due to by Intel BPT (Burst Performance Technology).
Both of these new Atom processor design for MID and other embedded application. There is not information about the amount of price both of these new chips. However, there is high likelihood Z550 will replace Z540 that banderol with US$160.
