The Economic Recession Shocks Sony Ericsson and Nokia

Global economic recession shocked cell phone industry. Sony Ericsson cuts their 2000 employees to survive because they lost US$384 million at this first quarter in 2009.

This cell phone company said in their official statement that they were doing program of saving expenditure as the additional program and it is including cutting their employees up to 2000 peoples.

The Sony Ericsson’s income decreases since the third and fourth quarter last year. on last march, this company also announced that this condition could not recover because their handset demand is decreasing in a market. 

Nokia, the cell phone market leader, also experienced loses when their sales decreased up to 27 percent since January until March of this year. Rick Simonson, the financial director of Nokia, even said that crisis in cell phone industry reach the top of it.
